Danny to continue to impress

Tuesday December 4, 2012

Written 1 hour ago

All that the doctors, nurses, therapists, and surgeons can say is that they are very impressed with the progress Danny has made! We want Danny to continue to impress them!

The swelling in Danny’s brain is starting to go down. The sooner, the better, and then the neurosurgeon will be able to reinsert his skull. He has been accepted to go to Dodd Hall, which is phenomenal! That’s the best scenario in which we could ask! Once he is moved there, which will happen tomorrow, according to the information we received today, he will get 3-4 hours per day of intense therapy. WE ARE STILL REQUESTING DANNY HAVE NO VISITORS DUE TO LOW IMMUNE SYSTEM.

Today, we handed Danny a wedding photo of he and Karen. He pulled it up to his face and held it there. It was a very touching moment. Then he looked over at his mom and gave her a “Dutch rub!” Pretty funny, Danny!

Our prayer requests today:
*Danny’s lung infection clears up (better today than yesterday!)
*Danny’s brain and brain stem will completely heal
*Danny will not become too frightened or frustrated as he becomes more aware of his surroundings and doesn’t understand where he is or why he is there, and what has happened to his body.
*Landon will heal quickly from his walking pneumonia, and Emmaretta will heal quickly from her ear infection, and Mommy (Karen) stays healthy.
*Danny will have an easy transition moving to Dodd Hall.

Ephesians 6:10 reads, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Our family is relying on God for His strength to get Danny through this, and for our family as well. Thank you all for your prayers!

Graduation

With 2012 graduation season coming up, everything related to graduation seems a hot topic. What’s your plan to celebrate the graduation? Have anything to say to your bros? If possible, it will be really a great idea to hold a graduation party at your house, invite your classmates and friends to enjoy the day with you. Or you can simply prepare a gift, like DIY a photo DVD slideshow with your photos and favorite music, for easy play on TV and permanent preservation. Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you’ll make a difference.

Graduation just has its symbolic meaning that we have finished the study at school, but in fact the road of learning never ends. Anyhow, these meaningful graduation quotes will be perfect for you to express appreciation and prospect to the future.

More state titles for Granville gymnasts

Olympic Academy’s Ainsley Owen, of Granville, and several other teammates captured more state titles for what has become a very successful season for local Granville gymnasts.

Owens outperformed all others in her competitive category with a combined score of 36.875 to capture the State All-Around Title at the Ohio Level 4 Gymnastics Championships at Bowling Green University.

Along with her overall title, Owen also won the state title on the balance beam and the floor exercise.

“It was her best performance all year,” said her coach, Clint Storey, a coach at the Academy for approximately 25 years.

“Ainsley is a very quiet, mild-mannered, hard-working gymnast” Storey said. “She had a relatively successful pre-season and managed to focus on the task at hand, and come out on top.”

In the level 4 division, Granville gymnasts Chloe Dement and Claire Lilly had their highest event scores of their season. Teammate Anna Krempasky finished sixth on vault (9.3) and sixth on bars (9.1), Abigail Doran finished fourth on vault (9.3) followed by Bailey Quitter’s season high on bars (9.05) for eighth place and a (8.90) for seventh on balance beam to round out the season’s state meet.

In the Level 5 Division, fellow teammates and Granville standouts Ella Large, Liv Piatt, McKenzie Everett and Maria Law also returned home with several state podium awards as well.

Large captured the state title on the uneven bars with a score of 9.50 and went on to win the silver medal in the combined all-around event at level 5.

Civil War History

Look Up Soldiers and Explore

The American Civil War is one of the defining moments in United States’ history. In commemoration of the lives lost and the battles fought, the National Park Service (NPS) created a new website highlight various aspects of the war. You can now find a detailed timeline of events from 1861-1865.

As brothers fought brothers in this deadly war, many lives were lost and families divided. You can search a soldier and sailor database of over 6 million records to find information on your ancestors or famous soldiers on either side of the battle. The NPS also highlights many key issues and events that lead to the start of the war. You can also find, view and plan visits to Civil War battlefields across the United States.
